I had asked what that loud little bird was a couple months ago and a
couple folks correctly identified it.

So the other day I was in the garage.. . [one of those '2 car garages
that only holds a car for a couple months out of the year']

As I approached the overloaded workbench in the back a bird flew out
and left through a gap over the overheard door.

When it happened again a couple days later I started looking through
the pile of crap on the 'work' bench. [worse than normal due to a
couple years of family medical problems]

Well-- This page says
http://www.sialis.org/nestscarolinawren.htm
"Carolina Wren's often choose odd locations for their nests. They do
not often chose to use nestboxes. "

I don't remember what was in this box when I put it here-- but it is a
'nest box', now.<g>

She's ok with me being in the garage and is sitting still for the
occasional photo. I hope I don't need any of those buried tools for a
few weeks.<g>

Cool! At least she's tolerating you. My mom used to hang a basket of
mini-petunias from a chain under the eaves near the front walk-way every
year. Invariably a Carolina Wren would nest in it. My parents were
getting dive-bombed by the wren when they'd walk out to get the mail.
Your wren's behavior may well change once those eggs hatch.

Ah, but they are cheeky, fun to watch and they definitely sing a lot...
and loudly! :) Enjoy!
