Removable Avery paper label in whatever size you choose.
Just change regularly as it gets a bit scruffy.
If you want to be really cheap you can buy a can of positioning spray
adhesive (mounts photos in an album) and just spray it on the back of a
sheet of paper that is cut to the size you want. Turn it over and stick
it where you need it.

When it wears out, I print something else on the other side of th sheet
or on another piece.
