*Finally*, after seeing lots of *interesting* stuff but not much worth
stopping for, this morning I whizzed by what looked like a multi-tool
laying on the shoulder of the road. Hey, I've been wanting one of
those. Turn around and ride back. Pick it up. Sweet! A stainless
steel Gerber :-) A little dirty but functional, and it might clean
up.

a gift from an admirerer ?

yawl doahn have a screwdriver/washer/meganut (from Power and Sloth) coolection ?

incroyable ! no DUI in Portland ?

OUAT I parked in a fishing area hosting party time Fri/Sat in lot then a looooong fishing deck on the bridge.

drunks owning fishing poles would fish on into the night, stagger off the bridge leaving the lathe, pliers, electric jackhammers, fishing equipment...I have some of it under the seat here 15 years later.

"The old Google Groups will be going away soon, but your browser is
incompatible with the new version."

"Incompatible" - the story of my life.

uh. seems, if energy use increases with repetititititititive texts in each following post, that a repeat text would occur only if asked but not if not asked: reducing the Sloth Factor. Maybe energ use is negligible ? You would believe Gooplex would be on top of this, right ?

'Like' there are points requiring repeats due to complex thought....mostly OT SF

One path taken here annoyingly repositions repeat text after I deleted the 36!!!@46%%$$^&7 BS.

My best find was a box containing eight cans of pure maple syrup. More
than a gallon total.

It was a struggle cramming it all into my single pannier which was
already nearly full. But I managed.

On a roll! This time it wasn't exactly road*side* - it was in the
middle of a road w/ 55 mph speed limit - just over the top of a short
rise - a sealed box brand new drip coffeemaker. Set it on the rear
rack and secured with old innertube. The glass carafe was intact.
The plastic water tank was busted up just a bit near the lid hinge,
but not too bad - looks fully functional and cosmetically okay. I
suppose the right thing would have been to move it to the side of the
road for whoever might come back for it, but it would have been a
goner any minute where it was sitting.

Dan, very nice. As for me, some of my more memorable finds (some returned to owner): police badge, $50 bill, school superintendent's cell phone, iPhone 2G, screwdrivers, hex wrench set, vice grip.

Best.\Larry
