So what's the issue other than the paint stencil being inverted?
It's a place for cyclists to dive OUT of traffic.
At least it would be be here.

That is a legitimate issue for cyclists. But once about 20 years ago,
while DRIVING in the Salt Lake City area, I veered left into the next
freeway lane to avoid being committed (I thought- based on available
information) to taking an undesired exit. I found myself smack dab in
the midst of ONCOMING freeway traffic. No barriers or other readily
identifiable makers to indicate that I would be moving into a
substantially different traffic pattern. It's not a mistake I would
make twice and I'm sure the locals were fully familiar with the
layout, but I thank serendipity for the lack of direct oncoming ( i.e.
'head on") traffic in the lane I had entered. That was a situation
that could have easily been "game over."

For people who *need* a bike lane to feel safe, they better have their
walking shoes handy. There's nothing wrong with the stencil. It is
correctly oriented on the correct side of the road ;-)

to the California coast around Santa Cruz or now overlooking the Pacific under the iconic sweeping grove of uhhhhh pine at Point Arena.

The trip from Susanville Red Bluff thru Mt Lassen Nat Park on Ca 36 needs more bike lanes for more tourism. No, itsnot costbeffective but widening the road ehre and there is safer. The road is perfect, no housing from park status, scenery classic California and downhill Dude eeyyeyyehahhhahahhahhahahhhh.....

The Cal Board of Tourism need hire a goon at the Euroports to stand there with a stick at the Oregon/Wa boarding lane.

We notice an interesting trend, which is the subject, half touring riders are now, time/place, male/female 35 to 70, extremely well turned out and pedaling.

Off course they all tell me San Diego is the destination but the chain's are clean. Maybe there's a new lube ?
