Merry Christmas Bill!
Indeed. Give me a call Bill.
Same to you Carl. Needless to say you're in the handful who are worth
the bother. I think; You, Adam, and Andy along with Jonas and Jame
when it comes to "been there, done that" and know how and why.
Season's finally over for us in the house here. Good stuff with the
Verge series and other events.
Best to all the Regulars.

That's JFT's cue.
A highly underrated thread.
Remember, when they come for your guns its important to have two.
That way you can give them one and still have one in reserve.
Unless they know you post here, then they'll know you own two so
you should probably pick up a third. That would be acceptable.

It's all mute (sic) since Obama took all our guns away in 2008.
If you don't remember, this was shortly after Gwen Ifill raped Sarah
Palin on national TV.
The third one is particularly handy if you miss the caribou with the
first two.
Hey Brian lost all my addy's when the last comp went tits up. Mail me.
My username@yahoo Finally got something other than dial-up now only
one provider option out here in the sticks ;-)

Nope just our two local Mom and Pop sporting goods stores. One took
three ATF assholes 3 months, had to go back 6.5 years, over 3 months
to find record keeping discrepancies, never had a gun sold used in a
crime, but after 40 years are now out of business, for the good of the
people.
Can't wait until the next nutcase rightwing fuckheads apply the same
logic, and now precedent to reproductive health clinics to protect
those "most vulnerable young women's health" and start shutting them
down. Congress is trying to pass a law banning revocation for minor
paperwork errors but it's being blocked.
I'm pissed now and will be when they start shutting down rural
community health clinics but then JT will be joining me in the
outrage.

Long ago in a universe far, far away there was a
computer company whose members were small in number,
but stout of heart and firm in purpose. It boasted but
a single convenience that often required attention from
those canny in the ways of plumbing. And a sign
appeared: that paper towel and tissue were to be
disposed of in the manner provide else the convenience
would back up. As with all signs , this one did not go
unremarked, and the moving finger wrote and moved on,
leaving the immortal "Always back up your work,
Merry Christmas, all you Mormons.

I had. I always run two isolated drives. The primary died I swapped it
out with what turned out to be one of the disposable Seagates which,
in turn died a few days later, and then couldn't recover again from
the back-up drive. Perfect storm and I hadn't dumped to offsite, or
removeable hard media.
Dumbass all around on my part.

Bill,
Everywhere on this planet, "Mom and Pop" shops of every kind are being
driven out of business. Usually by Megacorps that get economies of scale
the "Mom and Pops" can't compete with. I buy my guns at a chain store at
my local mall these days. There's no other option since the small stores
have all been bulldozed. They're cheaper this way, but it is a fucking
hardship to have to drive 3 miles to get there.
If the license was in Pop's name, they should have just reopened with
a license in Mom's name. Perfectly legal, apparently...

Guns ? Is this acceptable.
I doubt Bill has the details on this closure straight. It's like that
time Gwen Ifill spent 90 minutes on national TV telling Trig Palin jokes.

Yeah I hear that, but this is a case of them purposely going after
smaller shops without the deep pockets to pay for the legal fees if
they try and fight. The core of what I know comes both from the shop
owners who are long time friends but from the respective towns Police
folks who are responsible for handling firearms licenses both of whom
I grew up with and went to school with. The ATF folks are making no
secret that the mandate is to take the licenses away and close the
shops, or better yet bankrupt the shop owners in court and still take
them. This has been a big part of the strategy put forth by Mayor
Bloomberg and his friends to use administrative/regulatory policy to
attack gun ownership since there is no support whatsoever for new bans
in Congress.
Check out "A Blueprint for Federal Action" by MAIG along with a ton
of other demands for interagency action and "reinterpretation" of what
existing laws actually mean.
But hey we KNOW fringe political extremists would never misuse and
abuse Federal agencies and twist laws to suit themselves. Nope Bush
and clowns never did that, TSA is perfectly responsible and
respectable, etc...
The point is we should all be concerned with the assholes going
McCarthy/ J. Edgar on anyone, not cheering it on when they go after
people we disagree with, and then bitching when the shoe is on the
other foot. If you love all the secret Patriot Act/No Fly/watch list
shit then this is just more of the good life to you.
