RIP Clair Young.

He passed away peacefully this morning at home. He was 91. He was the
father of Sheila and Roger, and coach and friend of thousands. He was
tough and old school, genuine and loyal. He gave and gave and gave to
cycling and speedskating. One of those exceedingly rare people that
you absolutely had no bad memories of whatsoever. All he ever wanted
was for people to do their best.

According to this article http://www.mlive.com/living/jackson/index.ssf/2010/02/peek_through_time_clair_young.html
"In 1937, with Mike Walden, he helped organize The Wolverine Sports
Club. To date, it has produced 27 percent of all the state, national,
Olympic and world medals ever won [for the US] in both sports."

Godspeed, Smoke.
