"Rabobank Directeur Sportif Adri Van Houwelingen was surprised at the
outcome on Saturday. ÔøΩThe difference between Rabon and the rest of the
field is almost absurdly high", he said on the team's website.
ÔøΩCertainly we thought Rabon would ride for the GC yesterday, but we
didn't consider him a danger. Everyone assumed he would lose some time
on the climb, but he didn't.ÔøΩ"

Don't know what Rabon is on, but it sounds like Houwelingen has been
eating sour grapes.

Indeed. People load up for fatty master training races in the
US, but I doubt anyone is targeting Murcia. Murcia doesn't
have the prestige of M-SR or a city sign sprint on Tuesday
Night Worlds.

Some clarification: "on the climb" was originally "in de bergrit" and
referred to the climby stage earlier (the day before?), not to a climb
in the ITT. He also said that both he & Menchov were very content with
the results of the ITT. The tone of that article was: well, there was
nothing we could do about that so we are happy he beat the others. CN
just picked out the most contentious phrases.
