Just a nice attack, some good tactics and a little help from
friends.
The last time this message was posted, the rider was Floyd Landis and
the poster was Lafferty. Thanks for the reminder. Good times!
That's funny, because none of the French TV commentators or Bernard
Hinault could recall the last time that a GC contender made a long
lone attack, not even Ullrich in the 2003 Tour.

Just after the rest day, on a moderate climb, AS tried an attack but didn't
have in him and he lost quite a bit of time.
Now he powers away.
How long does it take for the blood to start working?
"Just on a numbers basics, 20-30km block headwind, up a valley - we are 40
(in the group) with one to nine guys riding at the front, and they are four
riding at the front," said the Australian.
"They really rode fast at the front, I don't quite understand how they made
so much time."

I wonder if any gym teachers have calculated how many sustained watts he
was putting out on the false flat into the wind before the final 8km
when he increased the gap to 4 minutes. If its under 440 then he's OK.
Also will Leopard be contributing the the QS end of year party after
Devenyns help.
Was not really lone, he drafted on the downhill and flats to the last
climb behind a teammate Monfort. But VS did not show it all, so I am
not sure how long he drafted. He did make a lone ascent on the HC
climb.
Does not really compare with Landis. But Landis had better whisky.
