What's a "crit?"
"The architectural crit, review or jury is a cornerstone of
architectural education around the world. The defence of ideas,
drawings, and models in an open format before staff and peers is
intended to be a foreground for healthy creative debate, but many
students view it as hostile confrontation – an ego trip for staff and
humiliation for them."*

You should ask your Mom, she's the one who told me.
A blood value. Over 50 and ur out. Unless ur name is Vaughters.
That's a slick way of saying "Google it yourself."

Has anyone gone back and reverse-engineered the bee-sting incident in
light of recent events?
You probably have a "no fear" sticker on your 93 Ranger pick up
You'd think at least one person here would actually answer the question
asked.
"Crit" is short for "criterium," which is bicycle race on a fairly short
course that's covered multiple times, this is contrasted to a road race
in which you generally only visit each section of pavement once in
either a point-to-point or loop (end where you started) fashion.
Look up "criterium" - there's a Wiki and plenty of other stuff to read
out there.

I hadn't heard this about Vaughters. Please elaborate
I'm afraid that most of this bunch offer an excellent explanation as
to why cycle racing is still a mystery to most Americans...

I can't elaborate on that, but there was an interesting article about
him in Outside a couple of years ago. Slipstream used to have a pdf of
the printed version on their website, but that seems to have
disappeared.
It's nothing new, but some may find it interesting.
