Geez, LA finished 3 places and 16 seconds behind Flandis, for crying
out loud.

curious how the article (link above is broken now) doesn't mention
LANCE at all ... maybe he took a monster pull to set up leppy's
launch?

http://www.cyclingnews.com/races/sram-tour-of-the-gila-ne/stage-1/results

or maybe the form's not quite there ...

Not to be an apologist for LA, but maybe he's just training and so
long as he gets the right amount of time in the right power/HR ranges,
he doesn't particularly care if he's 3rd or 20th or whatever. You do
know that sometimes pros ride races for training, right?

yeh, i get that. but i'm just curious ... i mean I haven't seen any
real indications of where his form is (like we have with contador,
evans, valverde, etc.).

That's the way he's been since the late 90s. No show of form until June.

Remember how Ullrich used to suck ass all spring, and then he'd
go to a training camp someplace where there wasn't any dope
testing? And when he got back he'd be the 2nd best stage racer
in the world? Anyone remember that?

That's just a random thought. I don't know why something like
this should pop it up. No idea.

Just what I was thinking.

On a related note, someone please tell Dave Towle he's mispronouncing
'Mogollon'.

As if I hear "Thor Hushovd" pronounced correctly;
or "Arnold Schwartzenegger".
