BALCO did not start with accusations of sporting doping. What it
started with was a used syringe turned in by a coach. The syringe
was sent to Don Catlin who identified a steroid that could not
have been manufactured legitimately. It's very existence was proof
of an illegal drug manufacturing operation.
Are you retards paying attention? The Feds don't care about doping
jocks. And they certainly don't care about jocks doping in Spain.
They do care about manufacturing and distributing dope.
BALCO was about an underground drug lab. It wasn't about sporting
fraud, the US has no federal laws against that. That's why when a
boatload of athletes came up positive for the new steroid, the feds
didn't give a shit about them.
That's why sending an email and cc'ing a federal agent with stuff
the feds don't care about is not the same fucking thing as the feds
being involved.
