Great Amstel Gold finish. Never give up, never surrender!

Thought for a (short) bit that Cadel might be the man, but kinda tough
trying to repeat what worked at the world's. Not like everyone isn't
looking for it. Feeble attempts by others, but Gilbert just kept it up.
Of course, if he'd run out of gas and lost, in fine RBR tradition we
would have trashed him. Everything the did would have been stupid. I'll
bet that's what motivated him. Once he started, he lived in fear of
being trashed on RBR.

Are you trashing RBR?

So far, 2 threads have been started on the results of this race. They
both mock RBR. Now our feelings are hurt!

Horner has not gotten ANY RESPECT AT ALL going back to when
he got royally hosed by LANCE in 1996 at the Olympic Trials.
HE SHOULD HAVE GONE TO THE OLYMPICS!!

Just sayin',

The most probable reason Horner gets NO RESPECT AT ALL is because he
smiles all the time. It's that naturally sunny disposition of his that
keeps people from respecting him and giving him his due. Also, it might
help if he got cancer for a little while.

I think that when you said "...lived in fear of being trashed on RBR."
that you were just projecting.

There's no need for a triathlete terminator. Just
wait long enough and they'll all crash themselves out.

So triathletes are proof for intelligent (or stupid) design or just
another manifestation of the peacock tail ?

No lie. A very good customer of mine "disappeared" for five months. I
actually mentioned at home that we hadn't seen her, hoped she was ok or that
we didn't do something bad that sent her to another shop. Next day she comes
in, says she spent 40 days in a hospital in OZ in September after a tri
event there in which she was run into from behind by a pack of guys. This is
a non-drafting event. She's just now more-or-less back on her feet.

I do duathlons (don't like swimming). Unlike most, I know I can't
ride in a pack. Last year I was at a race in which the road was very
narrow. There was no way you could not draft as everyone bunched up
and we had a real peloton going. Nice because it was my fastest bike
time ever!

However, the stupid tri-dudes actually rode on their aerobars while in
this big crowd. It was unbelievable! I stayed off to the side (and
off the bars!) and motored my way through the pack as quickly as I
could because I was convinced one of those idiots would touch a wheel
and they would be down in no time. Pretty sure there were no
accidents but I can see why you pros have such a poor regard for
triathlete bike handling skills.
