He would ride stronger if it was for the Olsen twins.

"It's even impossible to compare right now because 12 months ago today I
was in Colorado recovering from the Giro, trying to prepare for the
Tour, having a baby so there's really no comparison."

The man had a baby last June! No wonder he didn't win the tour!

He really is miraculous!

You are so cynical. :-)

If there were any Church of the Free Markets adherents left in this NG,
they would explain to you why this is not cynical, but rather moral and
just.

You must be missing SOTSs rbr essays.

Not really, no. He did have some interesting stuff, sometimes. Remember
his claim that Somalia represented an ideal of liberty that everyone
else should strive for? Where else can you get ideas like that? (That's
a rhetorical question, you don't have to answer it)

He might have said something that sounds that way
in a quick scan. I doubt he wrote that. For instance,
he might have written that some people's notions of
liberty are so poorly thought out that when those
notions are strictly applied the ideal is Somalia.

If it sounded like a cut 'n' paste job then that'd
be him.

Does anyone know how to fix a broken computer clock?
It keeps saying June, but it must certainly be July.

You must not have read much of his stuff.

He argued it for a week or 2. Certainly, he never said anything as
succinctly as I did. Google has it. He was citing this study:
http://www.independent.org/publications/working_papers/article.asp?id=1861
and he referred to the same article this does:
http://www.antiwar.com/bock/b042903.html

No, I did not; because, as you say, nothing was succinct.

Fun article. No inflation because people do not accept large
denomination Somali shilling notes. I cannot draw conclusions
from the article.

Took one look at his face and ran.

Lafferty has some novel obsessions. Anyway if SOTS returned he'd have to
be named FOTS based on the current rbr naming conventions.

SOTS is anything BUT conventional, unlike the rest of us sheeple.

PS: Sorry, I couldn't figure out what to do with "sheeple". "Fredple"
just didn't work for me.

By the way, I think it was Paul G who originally brought up Somalia as a
libertarian paradise, suggesting that SoTS move there.

Just as the sheep need a shepherd, the Freds
will need a Fredherd. Okay, a Fredherder.

BTW, whatever happened to Big Dumb Paul?

Thanks, but I cannot watch it. Flash and Java make my
computer less stable. I should have one computer that
only runs that stuff. Maybe some day.

I despise Flash, apart from its general tendency
to overload computers and cause crashes, I hate
that it allows websites to serve video to your
computer w/o even giving you the option to pause/
stop the video. If you have an older computer
Flash ads make everything slow to a crawl. That
said, I like to be able to watch videos or animations with it
when I choose to.

The cures are browser plugins that replace each
Flash instance with an empty box with a button.
If you decide you want to see the Flash, you click
on the box/button and the Flash is played. Reload
the page and it is gone again. This makes Flash
almost tolerable.

For Firefox: flashblock extension from mozilla.com
For Safari: clicktoflash from clicktoflash.com

Hopefully Lance finds a way to retire gracefully. I think Lance could
win a fall classic.
