But his wife is fertile.

Does he "get around?" I know he has six kids; I didn't know anything about
them being spread around to different women. Is that the case? He certainly
plays the family-man father card well in interviews.

He thinks the radio ban is not a well thought out plan.
And he's absolutely right. Good for him.

I love Jens. He's a humorous (usually) voice of sanity. He didn't
craft his argument in the best possible terms, but it's hard to argue
the totality.

I sensed all along the radio ban is bizarre.
Jens confirms it with hard evidence.

He doesn't explicitly suggest this, but sort of hints
it at the end with the F1 comparison - if the UCI
wanted to neutralize the competitive effects of team
radio communication, they could make the teams
operate on public frequencies, allowing listening in.
Or, to address Voigt's safety concerns, give the riders
all radios that are tuned to a single frequency that
race radio and/or all the directors can talk on.
This is all moot since next year Oakley is going to
introduce sunglasses with a heads-up display
that shows SMS messages. So the directors can
just text orders to their riders. I'm not sure I'm
ready for the inevitable riders Twittering from the
breakaway, though.

Are you TRYING to ruin my year? Sheesh.
Couldn't you have just said that Oakley was coming out with glasses
that had night vision adapters for podium girls? At least that would
give me something to look forward to...or under. Through? Whatever.
I'd like it.

Dumbass -
His argument is flawed. There was racing for 85 years before radios. Radios
didn't change that much except for it made it so that riders no longer had
to think for themselves tactically.
thanks,
Kurgan. presented by Gringioni.
All arguments are flawed, including yours. It is no longer 85 years
ago, the Tour is far more of a zoo, and there are even rock bands with
coherent light projectors. It is the future. Resistance is futile.
I still love Jens.

Wait til the SMS shades make an appearance
in Fat Masters pro races.
You know it's coming. Sooner rather than later.

They don't need to warn all the riders via radio of impending road
hazards, they just need to warn the lead escort moto...
Hey! Lets limit riders to two water bottles also.
Make them wear wool jerseys.
Change their own tires.
Ride single speed bicycles.
A radio ban is bizarre and artificial.
It is being enforced by the _riders_ _union_
against the riders' expressed wishes.
