brushes her teeth and takes that little clump of mud off of her tooth.

I actually think it's been set in the tooth deliberately.

Yeah, maybe 'mud' that's been compressed for eons under intense heat
and pressure. It's a diamond.

It's a heart, made of metal. Emilia Fahlin has the same thing in her teeth,
same tooth too.

I was thinking it was a piece of plumbing ductwork but then I see from
the grain of the wood that this is probably what it says it is--
