dumbass,

he's one of many kids better than taylor phinney.

Really, how would you back up that conclusion? What has he won, even
now, or especially back when he was only T Phinney's age, that
supports your assertion?

You know, I can google him, but I thought someone here might have some
better insight into this kid, maybe someone who even rode with him and
raced with him up through the cats. I'll just google.

Good short article I found on him right away. Kid is a "10 time
National Champion" and still fairly anonymous?

His English wiki page is freshly written:

Also, isn't it now obvious that Janez Brajkovic is going to kick ASS in
the TdF? He's beating "The Best Stage Racer in the World" (TM) in a
stage race, there is no other conclusion that can be reached.

Well, that was true of the kid that raced on the Eastern seaboard that
had the parents that were UCF officials. I think he started winning
'national championships' as soon as he found an age grade to win in.
Can't remember his name (or theirs) and he was only briefly really in
the national spotlight. Hoping someone else has a better memory for
names. Back in the 80s, 90s.

Ever look at how many 'national championships' YMC won?

Looks pretty impressive, hopefully, he'll continue to develop.

Not sure what Bajkovic did to himself to come back like this after
being the next big thing in 2006 and then losing foot after the 2006
Vuelta where he led the race for a while if memory serves. Wasn't he
involved in some shady stuff, or was that Gusev ?

They give out a lot more stars 'n' stripes jerseys
than they used to.

Phinney himself has previously tipped Van Garderen as the best young
US rider at present.

Remember that scene in Blazing Saddles with "Authentic Frontier
Gibberish?" Well, here we have an excellent example of Passive
Aggressive Doping Innuendo.

Gee, Keith, wasn't it your mother that got that dirty love from her
poodle, or was that someone else?

Yeah, it's really amazing how a 22 year old improves with only four
more years of training and experience.

How he is being coached might also play a role.

I'd prefer an unsubstantiated "Doper! Doper! Doper!" allegation than
the weaselly way Keith couched it.

dumbass,

last year they raced a lot of the same events as part of the US
national team. phinney could win the a prologue or a flat stage but
lose a lot of time on the hilly stages. van garderen was almost as
fast on the flat but he is maybe 30 lbs. lighter - at the protour
level that equates to better.

Yeah, and LA and Ullrich used to fawn all over each other, declaring
the other the most talented.

Taylor was most likely just being gracious.

dumbass,

where do you think taylor phinney would've finished on the alpe d'huez
stage ?

Well, he did switch bikes during the time trial. Does he ride the same
size as Cancellera?
