You have to wonder how much Amador had left in the tank if he can get back
up there and contest the finish after having been caught with 200m to go. It
would have taken less effort had he drilled it all the way to the line, but
it was one of those tactical issues where he was more concerned with
Malacarne sitting on his wheel than being caught by the chasing pack.

finishes like these will be more likely without radios in my guess.
Finally made time to watch this last night. Very nice.
Thanks for posting the link.
Stage 6 was cool too - final climb through near back-alley
streets, only about the width of a Fiat.
Cadel Fucking Evans is really cutting heads off the
last couple years. The style of his riding has changed -
he must have had panache training.

I think he's angrier. People either mellow with age or get angrier.
If you're in competition, the former is death, the second has better
legs. If CFE had a better reservoir of piss and vinegar he wouldn't
be up for the Poulidor of the Year award every year.
As Johnnie Lydon said, "Anger is an energy."

Or he got smarter. Some people (not many) actually learn.
thanks,
Kurgan. presented by Gringioni.
Getting smarter and getting angrier are not mutually exclusive.
Perhaps his education came in the same way that the protagonist in
that seminal training film got his.

It's the oldest story in the book. It's also sacrilege to trim a
Poulidor reference. You should know better. Sometimes it's hard to
believe that you follow bike racing at all.

It was won by some doper. So what?
If there is any justice they will
take it away from him.

What is a Poulidor? Is it similar to a humidor?
About as much as Ulrich was a cuspidor.
Poulidor had panache. You have ganache, Master Fattie. :)~
