stage 17: how did the Schlecks catch up to Contador on the descent finish?

I was only reading the live blog, no television. It sounded like
Contador was pulling away from everyone on the descent. And given the
Schlecks fear/inability of fast descents, how did they end up
finishing at the same time as Contador?

It /did/ look like Contador was pulling away with Sammy Sanchez, then
just about the finish, a group of seven, including both Schlecks and
Evans caught them.

The TV coverage didn't show the group of 7 gaining, but suddenly, there
they were.

The TV coverage switched between Contador and Voeckler and ignored
anyone in between.
