New² Velodrome for Baghdad

Saddam's statue was worthy of an Oscar, you would be
much closer to the truth than you ever knew.
But as part of the "Reconstruction" of the Capital,
it had been decided to build a World Class Velodrome
and after diligently searching the city for a suitable
venue, Hein Verbruggen opined that the best site by far
would be the one where the statuesque Saddam gazed out
over the city.
"Hey, Great idea," said Baby Bush, "It will fulfill an
urgent public need for a recreational facility, get rid
of that damn statue and show them Camel Jockeys what
Culture is all about. It's win-win all the way"
Unfortunately Georgie seemed blissfully unaware that the
Messopotamians didn't really need any lessons on Culture
from someone whose ancestors were still several thousand
years away from walking upright when Baghdad was
illuminated at night by several kilometers of Public street
lighting as he relaxed in the Bush family Embassy in Kuwait,
humming some out of tune melody that somewhat resembled "By
the Rivers of Babylon".
Then after smoking a couple of joints, he had a Brain Wave.
He figured he'd make a real PR spectacle of the removal of
his ex-buddy Saddam's statue, so he got on the scrambler
to Congo Leza and told her to get onto them Hollywood guys
and tell them he needed another favour.
And what a Spectacle they provided. You've seen it, Right?
Better even than Spartacus and almost as good as Leni's
"Triumf". Hundreds and Hundreds of Laughing, Singing Liberated
Locals hauling on the ropes. It got rave reviews from the viewers
in YankeeDoodledom and the BBC (Blair's Bullshit Corporation) and
numerous other news services around the world.
So why does it need an Oscar badly?
Well Davey figures that anyone who can produce what you saw from the
real life Raw Footage deserves an Oscar - see the piccy of what

Now most of us have long since ceased to be surprized when politicians
lie to us. They are after all politicians
But in this instance, the whole of the Press, NBC, CBS, ABC CNN Fox News,
the New York Times, the Washington Post et al, lied to us
