Rabobank team boss Erik Breukink confirmed at the Tour de France on Sunday that
star rider Denis Menchov recently gave evidence to Austrian police investigating
a suspected blood doping.
During last month's Tour of Italy Menchov was handed a summons by Austrian
police who are investigating a Vienna laboratory, Humanplasma, suspected of
being at the heart of a blood doping ring.
Suspended Austrian cyclist Bernhard Kohl, who announced his retirement in May,
reportedly told prosecutors he received blood transplants at Humanplasma.
Menchov is believed to have travelled to Austria to speak to investigators two
weeks ago.

If that's really about Menchov and not about asking him about other people I
am quite surprised. Why would Menchov be so mundane when doping was common
and quite good now that doping is being strongly controlled?
If I accept your assumptions, then the obvious answer would be:
Because he's one of the few who didn't stop doping.

Obvious and logical solutions to problems are not really Tom's specialty.
He interprets the Principle of Parsimony as the Principal of Parsnips, and
doesn't see why the guy in charge of vaguely licoricy-tasting root
vegetables has any say what-so-ever in analyzing problems.
