Its all about interpretation. I was amused by the
Australian tv postwrap where the expert guy said
he didn't think Valverde was at top form which
was good for Cadel Evans.. Which was kind of weird
as Valverde gapped Evans at the top just before
the finish but slowed when he realised he couldn't
get Ricco.
I didn't think anything would change at the top
but then again you wouldn't think the guy in
yellow would be able to fall off like that..
I thought Valverde would win and you could
probably say he seemed to think that too but
what I haven't read anywhere is he seemed somewhat
pissed off about the way Pereiro fell off right
at the top I thought.
So stage 7, the king of the mountains decider
type of stage and another day of no GC interest
I guess.
The contenders watched each other, letting the
non-threats get up the road knowing that they
would come back to them. The elimination of
time bonuses works for me, whatever reason
the organizers had.
I can still see Ricco putting himself back into the mix.
