Hello RBRers,

There is an online TdF fantasy game where you create a team of 9 riders and
get points based on their daily performances with the possibility of trading
riders after each stage. I played it last year and really enjoyed it. It
made following the tour even more enjoyable. I will play it again this year.

Although there are tens of thousands of people playing it, it has the unique
feature of allowing you to create your own private league and inviting other
players in to it. That way you can not only compete against all 35 000 other
players, but also amongst your friends. In addition, there is a debate forum
for each league.

How about a rec.bicycles.racing competition? I could create a league and all
of us know-it-alls could compete for bragging rights for the year.

Here's the catch- the site is in Danish. I'd be willing to translate the
directions into English and put them on my web site, if there is enough
interest in a RBR league.

Show of hands. Who's in?

p.s. I have already translated the point system page for a friend. You can
find it here http://wontyouspammebaby.free.fr/Tdf-points.htm

Help from actually Danish speakers would be appreciated (Henrik, Thomas, et
al)

Ok, I put up a quick site with instructions in English. Instructions are
there about how to register, set up a team and join the RBR league. Give it
a try. You're the alpha tester to see if I forgot anything. I'm sure there
are a few omissions and mistakes. Ask if you have questions. (There's also a
league forum once you've got your team set up and enrolled in the R.B.R
league)

Here's the link-

Good luck!

I signed up. My team (subject to exclusions/replacements):

Michele Scarponi (Domina Vacanze)
Bradley McGee (FDJeux.com)
Lance Armstrong (US Postal)
Oscar Sevilla (Phonak Hearing Systems)
Tom Boonen (Quick.Step-Davitamon)
Stuart O'Grady (Cofidis)
Mark Scanlon (AG2R-Prévoyance)
Haimar Zubeldia (Euskaltel-Euskadi)
Iban Mayo (Euskaltel-Euskadi)

I designated Zubeldia as team captain... I ultimately had $4.6 million left
over.

I'm registered, but the directions said the league name was
Rec.Bicycling.Racing...That didn't work. The correct name, I belive is
Rec.Bicycles.Racing as that league exists.

You are correct. It was a typo and is fixed.

Thanks for the job.

I noticed that on the registration page, one is asked about some private
data, like phone number, home address and such.
Are these compulsory info? Is there a way to register without giving away
these?

They're not checked. Just fake it. Just your email address must be factual.

OK. I did it, but when, after having logged in, I try to build my team, I

Tour de France Manager

Det er desværre ikke længere muligt at tilmelde sig Tour de France Manager,
da alle 51.500
pladser i spillet er optaget.

What does this mean?

Oh, bad news. Apparently they've limited the number of teams in the Tour de
France Manager game to 51,500, and all of them are taken. Maybe it's a
question of computing resources, or bandwidth?

Their European Cup game has 75000 teams. If I see that they increase the
number of participants, I'll post a message here.

Sorry :(

OK they've increased the number of participants to 65,000. There are "only"
53250 right now, so you can go ahead and create your team.

FYI, last year there were a total of 35000 people playing the game. Seems to
be much more popular this year.
