I realize that it was probably staged, but the kid looked good on the
bike and had a nice cadence.

Does Liggett do commentary for the yankee audience on races other than
the Tour? In the UK, only one race exists for the national stations and
it ain't Paris-Roubaix, so you'd never hear him commentating on it.

Yeah. He does do other stuff. We like the sound of a British accent
over here. I guess it's same thing that made Jerry Lewis popular in
France. I never understood that. Jacques Tati was ten times funnier
and we never really saw his movies over here back then.

Fookin' ancient. Don't tell anyone.

I wasn't born when his movies first came out, and was unaware of him
until relatively recently in my early-onset decrepitude.

I WAS born when at least some of his movies came out--though I don't
know much about Tati's career. Certainly true that any French movie
back then that anyone talked about was probably porn.
As for Tati, I only remember seeing one of his movies--I believe the
title was "Mon Uncle", and I remember a lot of sausages were involved.

Ummm, Steve...a "lot of sausages"...? Are you sure that wasn't also
porn?

If he's clean, that kid is the new Eddy Merckx without a doubt.
