Description: General discussion of bicycling.

A bicycle is a toy you throw in your SUV and launch where it's safe
What is wrong with that American approach to riding a bike? "Everything," if you ask me. And yet many people with such routine are happy with the prevalent conditions. "What about MAKING IT SAFE to ride everywhere?" Blank stare follows. Nobody knows the answer. How about if you question the safety, congestion and pollution... more »

The Trike and the Meaning of Life
When you are a baby, you get a trike; when you are old you, you get a trike. When you are a baby, you pee in your pamper; when you are old, you pee in your pamper. What's the purpose of life? Such a question passed through my mind as I ran my trike all over town. Owning a trike --an old people's trike-- has not been a casual... more »

Animals You Don't Think Would Be A Threat - KILLER SQUIRRELS!
The recent escape of dozens of exotic animals from an Ohio farm had many people in the area hiding inside from wandering lions. Authorities have since accounted for all the missing animals, but don't get too complacent in your backyard just yet. Sure you might know about avoiding bears in the woods, or deer on a highway. But... more »

Would a shimano nexus make a good mid drive?
I have a trike im fixing up and quite frankly, they're to damn slow. I want to use the 8 speed as a mid drive and along with 26 inch wheels, i think itll really move. Hopefully it can handle the weight and torque. I then need the front fork from a mtb or beach cruiser. -- JaxRhapsody... more »

I am one of those nuts that has 10 machines in the garage. The Rich should Run the Country in a Nondemocratic Way
Hey, hey, before you think I'm sold out, lend me your attention so I can explain myself. Firstly, the Financial Times said the DEMOCRATIC CAPITALISM is in crisis, not capitalism, say, as it is China. Secondly, the Rich already run the country, but do so under the cover of democracy. When the economy goes bad, the standards of living fall,... more »

Hands hurting
On long rides, my hands start hurting quite a bit. I wear a decent pair of padded Bontrager gloves. Any other suggestions? Thanks, Mike
