There's a four-mile "historical ride" at three-O'clock today, and I
want to go. It being an "attract the newbies" ride, I really ought to
wear a civilian shirt instead of my jersey -- but I want to take my

When I went for groceries yesterday, I wore my cotton jersey. It's true that that was because there's a needle attached to a
half-made darn in my wool jersey, and I did wear a silk shirt and two
cotton shirts under it, but I've been riding in cotton.

Day Trip, not quite the same route

It's warmer than it was when I last rode around the south end of the
lake -- but I'm going to wear the shoes with no ventilation holes.

And my toes were chilly anyway. I suspect that that was in part
