My wife acted as PIC for her first time
yesterday (at LAF)!

So far, just a motion JPEG (use xanim
or something) of her first landing, but
I hope to have the stills in soon.

No, it's not impressive to anyone else,
but it's *so* cool to me. I pushed her
into getting some lessons and she would
hardly touch the yoke at first. Now
she's talking about getting her multi
this year and taking an instrument class
next semester. Soon *I* can take a nap
flying home in our plane!

I know a lot of you have had problems
with ground-only SOs. Well...eat your
hearts out!

CONGRATULATE your wife for me and be sure to tell her she is welcome
as a member of the post solo group.

Best regards

My Wife has been PIC for several years now. No real need
for her to get a licence for that.

Yeah, now you've done it. She'll want to fly half the
legs and you'll find yourself peaking in her log book
just to make sure she's not getting too many hours on
you.

Margy had a pretty good track record.

October 92 - afraid to fly, took her up and hit a bird had to
leave plane and drive back.
July 93 - Fly out to Oshkosh with me in the skyhawk, on the way
up swear she's never going to take another trip like this.
July 94 - Fly herself to Oshkosh as a freshly minted private pilot.
Decides to let me do the landing at "the show" cause she knows
everybody's watching
July 95 - Flies our Navion out to Oshkosh, me I'm in the right seat
all the way playing with a borrowed GPS.
July 96 - Margy buys me a Garmin 195 so I'll sit and play with it
in the right seat so she can fly.

Some years ago I had to spend a couple of weeks in NE Pennsylvania on an
emergency--my SO solo'd while I was gone!

My wife became PIC when I said "I do", and she doesn't even fly!

Anyway, congrats to you both!

Does she complain that you're always leaving the ejector seat up ?

Congratulations - an achievement for both of you

Oh, yeah, let's start yet ANOTHER variant of the loggging-PIC controversy:
LOGGING PIC vs. ACTING as PIC vs. acting AS IF you're PIC :-)

Some folks's troubles never end :-)

Blue Skies,
-Patrick.
