Want to buy or lease 201B Libelle
I am looking for a contest ready Libelle to fly in Moriarty and Parawon. I will lease or buy. I will also give you an option to buy back at a profit after the contests. It would be best if it was located within 600 miles of Austin Texas. I want a glider and trailer that has been used recently and will fly to its handicap. I can have... more »

Please let me know if you are coming, or have a question about racing at Minden. Mentors are available for those who have not raced here before. Minden is... more »

Compare/Contrast: CG hook on aerotow vs. CG hook on winch
I've been told (and witnessed) that aerotow on CG hook is initially difficult for someone who has trained for aerotow with a "nose hook" (aka hook-forward-of-CG). Suppose this CG-hook-newbie were to take winch tow training (with CG hook). Would the winch training reduce the initial difficulty of a CG hook aerotow?... more »

Thanks to Mark Mocho
I bought a glider I had previously checked out and had it trailed to Moriarty, New Mexico so Fidel Ramirez could do a little touch up to the gel coat on the left wing. It is perfect now. I had also asked Mark Mocho to build me a wing wheel,(the one that came with it was substandard) and a tow bar before I had left to pick up the glider. They were also perfect. I casually asked Mark Mocho to check the trailer out.... more »

Volkslogger issue
I purchased a used Volkslogger and it works fine, but the I can't seem to get rid of the previous owner's Home Waypoint. I have downloaded the waypoints from the logger and uploaded mine, but the Home Waypoint stays. When I upload the flight, the departure point is the home waypoint even though I have not entered it.... more »

DG1000S - Weight and Balance work sheet
We will soon be flying our DG1000S. Since many pilots will be flying we will need to have a standardized process for determining the correct tail ballast or front ballast. Does anyone have a work sheet for the DG1000 W&B? Thanks Phil

SW developers: FLARM protocol version 6 reminder
I've emailed the folks developing products that display traffic from FLARM, for those I know, but for those I do not know, a quick reminder... Hi Guys, probably you know this already, but just in case... PowerFLARM defaults to the older FLARM protocol which does not include PCAS (transponder) functions. To get all the new info,... more »

Rocky Mountain Racing Venues
Before packing up my Discus2 and moving to the French Alps, I only had the opportunity to race a couple of times in the USA, and never at a Rocky Mountain Racing Venue. If one defined a “Rocky Mountain Racing Venue (RMRV)” as one where the pilots routinely found themselves at or below the mountains’ tops, which venues would make the list?... more »
