I started my Private Pilot training in March, 1999. Started reading this
ng then also. Posted about various things, including my first solo and
recieving my PPSEL in October, 1999 (70 some hours, mostly in 172's).

Since then, I started flying a Super Cub and an Aviat Husky, both tail
draggers. Fell in love with the type, joined AOPA, subscribed
Tradeaplane, and located a 1996 Aviat Husky in Sioux City Iowa.
Flew a rental Warrior out to Sioux City, signed a contract to buy
recieved the plane, did a prebuy, purchased Bouncer, a 1996 Aviat
Husky A-1.

Got checked out on it and now have about 160 hours in it. Have flown
it all over Colorado, including mountains, had a mtn checkout, flew
it on an overnight to Jackson, WY (Driggs actually). Great times!

Am working on my IFR ticket in my Husky! Has the basic 6 instruments
plus VOR/GS and an IFR GPS. All you need really. Found out don't nned
marker beacons (technical stuff) to shoot an ILS. So I'll be all set
to fly in the clouds! Have 25 hours under the hood.

Finding out about the grass backcountry strips in Idaho, the gravel
ones in Utah and visiting every airport in Colorado. Planning a trip
to Alaska.

Anyway, its been a great time, changed my life. All I do is work,
raise my 7 year old daughter and read, fly and think airplanes.

Hoping to get my instrument, commercial, and glider ratings.

Appreciate the aviation newsgroups and am having a superb time flying
and landing, Bouncer, my Husky.

That sentence sums it up for me, too, Doug. Flying changed my life
completely, starting in 1994.

I've since started and operated a successful business, working 70+ hour
weeks, for the sole purpose of generating enough income to own and operate
my own plane.

People may think I'm nuts, but it's a terrible, wonderful addiction. There
is simply nothing else like flying, and I wouldn't trade it for the world!
