I noticed you are gun obessed a Yank - so that figures. theoretically, be a part of basic public-school education, and that their proper use could be normalized in the same way that driving a car is a normalized skill in society. But for some reason, people like you think that only police and military personnel should have firearms. And yet, the police and military are corrupt organizations in any country you might care to name, and cannot be trusted to do their nominal jobs in a responsible and ethical fashion. The only conclusion to draw is that government as we have it today requires that its citizens be reduced to a state of defenseless dependence on government goodwill. And we see how well that has worked out.
