Really bad news.... if sectarian violence involving the third Abramitic
religion start in Egypt (notice that egyptian Copts are 10M vs. 70M
muslims, and have also a sizeable expat community, enough for sustaining
a long sectarian fight) are really a major PITA, but the real danger is
that only two very weak (and in the process of recovering from a
secession) countries separate the country in where copts are the
suffering minority from the countries where copts are the Power that Be
(and being Italian I'm more than sure that if Judas's Lion charges down
the Nile, isn't a nice perspective for egyptian muslims)
Erithreans and Ethopian are by far the most ferocious fighters against
muslims (after Adowa, being christian (coptic) became one of the
prerequisites for being enlisted in the Italian colonial troops)
Eritrea is not backward as seems, and there's enough 'Net connections in
the Ethopia to start stirring popular support in these two countries
Best regards from Italy,
dott. Piergiorgio.
My understanding is that the Vatican has already been talking to the EC
about the possibility of large numbers of Christian refugees from the
Middle East and South Asia.
As the UK absorbed about a quarter of a million Christians from India
between 1948 and 1963, most of whom are now intermarried with the
locals and almost fully integrated without anyone actually noticing,
Christian immigrants aren't usually considered a problem.

Grantland
there's another serious point: UK Gov't was never happy on the meddlings
of Irish ex-pats in United States... and the Mediterrannean sea, is
*much* narrower than the Atlantic (read: major mess ahead)

I hope so... I'm worried that (you're briton, and will understand)
ex-pats Copts start to brew troubles...)

I can chuckle on this ? Carribbeans get the best of the two cultures,
African and Latin....

This is what puzzles us; until few years ago, we was confident in our
capability of handling immigrants, but we're all surprised of the sudden
emergence of the unknown-before conflicts between natives and
immigrants; perhaps is related to the rather exclusive nature of
marriage in Islam ?

The very last thing Italy needs now, with all the massive issues already
to be sorted out is the exploiting of a certain birth certificate issued
in Sirte on or no more than few days after 7 June 1942 (that is, sadly,
*prior* of the Battle of El-Alamein....)
(Italian laws don't consider permanent the renounce of citizenship; back
then when was the massive economical crisis in Argentina, every Argie
with the needed requisites reminds their Italian citizenship right, and
our Embassy get an overwork, fortunately the local economical crisis was
solved prior of having a rather massive Argentine "immigration"...)

Europeans aren't native to Europe either. They are descendants of
Africans. Everyone one is, even you.

Only a few of the Catholic 'East-Indians' had a European ancestor, and
they're the majority.
The bulk of them were 'St Thomas' Christians and had been Christian for
2,000 years or so...
