Since this is supposed to have a 360 degree capability, I wonder if
it
could be used as a bomber self-defense weapon?
Is hit-to-kill really a good idea? The early British Rapier missiles
worked
this way, but they displayed less-than-stellar performance in the
Falklands
War.
Even it it's billed as a hit-to-kill weapon, it probably has an
explosive
charge inside to keep it from coming down intact. I wonder it this
detonates just before impact to spray the target with fragments
(as is done with Patriot PAC-3)?
If it's accurate enough to target an aircraft's "selected point of
vulnerability",
I wonder if it can engage incoming SAMs & AAMs?
