Well no, the Twin Towers were not a military HQ building.
It is however what the coalition air forces did to the Iraqi
air defence HQ in Baghdad and that was rather effective.

well, killing is a thing, but to *really* eradicate terrorists one need
to capture 'em and sentencing with full possibility of parole, esp. if
they gives means of preventing the repeating of the spiraling down.

And most important, what matters is removing the *root causes* of the
terrorism...

(whose is how we manage to contain the Red Brigades, and was a lesson
learned after many years of bloody failures in hard repression)
