The problem with international Corporations, they are not
directly financially held by any one country except for the
assets inside of that country. The Company is breaking Brazilian
Law by the way they are paying their Brazilian Workers and the
Court had an asset seized in order to recoup those losses to the
worker.
It's pretty cut and dried. If the company wants the bird back,
they will pay the workers the back pay in BRAZILIAN currency and
stop picking the currency outside of Brazil so that the money is
worth half of what the Brazilian Worker should be getting after
the conversion. If they don't then they can watch their bird go
on the auction block and get the remainder of the balance in
whatever currency they wish. If I were the Brazilian Courts, I
would pick the lowest, highest inflationary currency to pay them.
