Although these are presently unarmed and will act as load-carrying
pack mules, an ACR version could easily be accomplished. Germany is
working on similar Bundeswehr walking ACRs and snaking ACRs... the
latter type filled with explosives.

The German Wermacht may as well get robots for Afghanistan. It's not
like they ever leave their nice, cozy barracks and do anything dangerous.

It's not like they have a combat mission either, fool, and yet around
24+ have died in Afhghanistan. I think we had this discussion before
and the one where the US laughed at the Soviets in Afghanistan and
their failed 10 yr war (1979-89_... let' see, we now have a 8 year
failed war (2001-2009). Two more to go.

p.s. Germans have succesfuly tested robotic AFVs and their GEFAS can
actually take mine damage unlike the US "Humbler" or "Hobbler":

Like it? Looks like a 21st century SdKfz-251 :)

Yes, this is cool technology but, don't we already have a better
technology to do this called "burros"?

Actually the machine shown in the picture is built by Boston Dynamics and
they are for the US military. Rob just had to give it a German twist.

That's by their choice, missy, the wermacht doesn't travel very far
during the day and hardly ever at night. They could take a more active
role if they want.

So has the U.S., girl.

If you mean the U.S. humvee perhaps you should look at it's mission
as designed. It was originally a replacement for the jeep.

Looks like a clone of a French Panhard.

Aren't putting a German twist on something? I'm shocked, SHOCKED, I
tell you.

German KSK fought with Delta Force in Afghanistan already... eh,
forgot that did you???

They were brought home b/c of the poor US command structure and the
German defense minister as well as the Chanceller not being allowed to
know what their own troops were doing (many claim they crossed the
Pakistani border and killed civilians).

I don't blame Schroeder at all.

That doesn't change the fact the wermacht isn't fighting at the moment.

Then again, you don't blame Germans for much, do you? It's all the
fault of the U.S., right?

No, I didn't. The Big Dogs are US. I only mentioned that the
Bundeswehr has walking ACRs that are similar. Germany already has
tested walking machines before since Mak tested 4-8 legged machines
and the Bundeswehr tested a fully robotic Wiesel AFV. Many German
Universities and private companies are also working on autonomous
machines that can easily be adapted for military/police use. The
Germans have police and military active tracked robots, crane arms,
fire fighting bugs, etc...

Don't twist my words but read what I wrote verbatim.

Rob

p.s. Italy had a robotic horse since 1933- the Iron Dobbin... long
before the US had the Big Dogs:

That's Bundeswehr, not Wehrmacht.

Dan is a fool.

The Bundeswehr in 2003 had 13,000 troops deployed to the Balkans,
Afghanistan, Kuwait, Djibouti, and Kenya performing peacekeeping,
training foreign troops, and spying on Somalia. The Germans ran the US
AWACs in 2001 and have been to Cambodia on medical and peacekeeping
duties. The Germans performed minesweeping in the Gulf after ODS and
also gave the US many Fuchs chemical panzers. German Navy is busy with
the Somali pirates too.

The Bundeswehr is slowly moving forward but politically-controlled by
Berlin. As soon as any collateral damage happens or Germany has an
independent conflict the media will dig up every Third Reich and
Waffen SS image it can.

They are in a bad situation. The US can commit war crimes in the open
due to 9/11 but Germany is stained by the Holocaust and Whermacht
history.

But Dan is clueless as ever.

Rob

p.s. How many innocents have been killed by the US Armed Forces in
Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan??? But hey- just wave Old Glory and
all is forgiven... by the West. ;)
