Due to a class action suit, Nissan has offered by buy back my 1987 van.
I've already had all the recall work done on it, so it's supposed to
be safe now. (Appearently there had been some engine compartment fires).
The buy-back offer is still good.
They have offred me about $6,500 for my 1987 van which has about 65,000
miles on it. It is still in pretty good shape. It has autmomatic
transmittion and air conditioning.
Is this a fair deal?
Should I be able to get more if I sell it myself?
If I keep it, will it's value fall drastically?
Will I still be able to get parts for it?
Someone told me that they heard Nissan will be coming out with a new van,
smaller and cheaper than the Quest, compairable to the older vans. Can
anyone confirm this rumor?
Good advice is appreciated.

Edmund's says a 1987 Nissan van is worth $3625 retail and
$2400 wholesale, so it sounds like a MORE than fair deal!
Just to makes sure we're talking about the same vehicle
check it out on page 160 of their 1994 used car prices guide.
