Running without a smog pump?

The bearing/bushing has failed on the smog pump on my '87 Isuzu Trooper 2.3L. What problems will likely be caused if I just remove the belt ( it's all on its own ) and don't bother to replace it? I don't live in a place where emissions tests are required.

Spreading the wealth tonight because there are knowledgable people in all these groups. In order to try to make sure my '92 Grand Caravan has the proper ATF, which is now ATF+4, I did a drain and fill and replace 5.5 qts of trans fluid with Castorl ATF+4 grade ATF. It is running OK, but sometimes "Bump-shifts" which in these trannies can be an indication maybe someone... more »

1992 lebaron; fuel line quick disconnects - where?

[link] I need to fab two new rubber fuel lines. They are dressed with quick disconnects at both ends. Know one seems to be able to supply them? Does anyone know where these can be obtained? Or am I out of luck. Thanks. View of the fuel lines supplied at the above link. Promise, no monkey... more »

mazda power steering fluid

anyone know if mazda specs anything special for their power steering fluid replacement (similar to honda requiring a proprietary fluid) ? of will any ATF type fluid do Ok ? in case it matters, 1998 mpv and a 2007 cx-7 are the two mazda's in question thanks.

Who was it who mentioned Fram oil filters and dropping oil pressure?

Who was it in the Subaru group that mentioned my low oil pressure might be caused by my using Fram oil filters? There may be something to this. I picked up yet another 1992 Grand Something-or-other (in this case, a Grand Caravan. The last two were V'gers...). It has 239,000 miles on it. I got it on eBay for $150 and had to go 135 miles to pick it up. To make a... more »
