I wanna plan my beer drinking about the same time as the start of the
race. I just bet we are looking at a 90 minute "pre-race" blitz as well

I hope you stock a lot of beer because there may be as much rain delay as
racing. Daytona Beach must have the climate of a tropical rain forest
because it happen there all of the time.

That race has only had one rain delay since they started racing at
night.

I seem to remember two. And one was a real doozy of a delay!

Since I am not one of those at the track being inconvienced I actually root
for rainouts. I consider them to be Additional Bonus Coverage. You just
have to make sure to have enough of your favorite beverages on hand for
proper teevee viewing in case you live in one of those Blue Law states or
counties. But for Pocono there is no such thing as enough. You would have
to get 100% alcohol and put it in your vein with an IV drip to making Pocono
look interesting.

I am adding Loudon to the same Poco list. Two races at Loudon is two

Guess you don't know much about rain forests either. I live in one now
and rain here is quite predictable. One easily plans around it.

Well one was like a 10-15 minute delay, that really doesn't count in
my book, but yeah, the other one was about a 2 hour delay.

It just happen to be the first race that I had taken my G/F to and we
sat in a slight drizzle for about 2 hours.

It was just enough rain to keep the track wet, but not enough to get
you wet sitting in the stands.

Not a good experience for a first timer...lol

Wasn't a rain delay, tho. Unless you consider lack of rain to
have been the cause of the delay.

we had sprinkles on the backstretch at one event that seems to have been
of a delayed of the start... and not the downpour event...IIRC...

The one time when I had someone to drive me home and there is a two hour
delay. Ran out of beer, and had to start buying that expensive track beer.
