I cannot believe these stats published by USA Today;

http://i.usatoday.net/sports/graphics/2009/nascar-crash-database/flash.htm

Sam Jr crashed nearly every week and some weeks he had multiple crashes
in the same race.
Yet they show only 20 wrecks all season - I don't think sooo.

USA Today is "cooking the books" on this one.
Wonder what their stats show global warming?

I agree with you that it seemed to me Hornish crashed a lot more then
Stremme.

I was also surprised to see Kurt Busch at 14 crashes.

I think that they must stop counting Sam's crashes at 20 because he also
had 20 in 2008. :-)

Hornish had a lot of "incidents" that weren't really "crashes". I can
recall a number of spins or brushing the wall, that likely would not
have been listed as crashes.

You are correct. When I started to discuss Sam and his high
number of " problems" I was including spins - spun out
sliding slipping etc. It was too much fun !!!
