r.a.s.n.m FAQ -- Section 6 - All About rasnm
6.1 - Why is rasnm moderated? Even though all Big 8 Usenet newsgroups have a Charter, in an unmoderated newsgroup there is no way to ensure that posts to the newsgroup abide by the Charter. Everyone is on the "honor system". Unfortunately, that oftentimes results in a newsgroup becoming a dumping ground for spam,... more »

[META] About Selling Tickets on RASNM
The charter of r.a.s.n.m, which we have all agreed to follow, prohibits "Commercial or Money-Making Posts": 4) Commercial and Money-Making Posts are defined as posts whose primary purpose is to solicit a benefit for the poster. This would include, but is not limited to, advertisements of businesses, direct advertisements of goods... more »

Getting Started Posting on rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderat ed
The registration process outlined in the charter for new posters wanting to get started posting to rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderat ed has been eliminated. Now, instead of having to register an agreement to abide by the charter, new posters simply have to post an article like they would to any other USENET... more »

Rationale for rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderat ed
On April 1, 1994, the USENET newsgroup rec.autos.sport was divided into several racing-related groups - one of which was rec.autos.sport.nascar, or "rasn" as it became known to it's participants. On August 13, 1998 a second nascar-related USENET newsgroup (this group) was voted into existence: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderat ed, or "rasnm".... more »

Franchitti's wandering back out.....
...doesn't look like the stock car experience has quite worked for Dario, as he goes back to IndyCar and Ganassi.... Taking Wheldon's ride: I'm going to bet Wheldon lands another IndyCar ride. Somehow I don't see him taking that as an indicator that it's his turn to go ride the NASCAR merry-go-round. :)... more »

Charter for rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderat ed
On August 13, 1998 a second nascar-related USENET newsgroup (this group) was voted into existence: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderat ed, or "rasnm". The charter for this USENET newsgroup was stated in the CFV as follows: ============================== ============================== ================ CHARTER: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderat ed... more »

Snoozefest if there ever was...
I've been a NASCAR fan for over 40 years, and I can honestly say that Fontana/ Auto Club Speedway, or whatever it's called these days, has been the most pathetic GD excuse for a race I've ever seen. F1 without the drama. It's a sorry combination of the tracks, the cars, and the tires. NASCAR needs to go racing again instead of trying to provide... more »

Simmons - RPG - Fontana II - 2/31
Top Five, in no order: Johnson - 1 Edwards - 0 Busch, Ky - 0 Biffle - 1 Kahne - 0 I'm undecided as to the winner. It is between Johnson and Edwards, but in an attempt to score a three-peat, I will go with Cuzzin' Carl... he is, after all, on a roll. Shoulda went with Jimmie... nutz! I originally figgered KuBu into the top five, but I think Kahne will be... more »
