I was there, and there were a lot more people than I expected!
Frankly with the race being rescheduled I figured that at least 10 % of the
fans that traveled/flew in for the race, who would have been there for the
original race date in September, weren't in attendance. Given that, plus
the competition of the biggest Texas football game of the year being held in
town (which started a half hour earlier than the IRL Race) the "Red River
Classic" yearly Texas vs. Oklahoma game at the State Fairgrounds Cotton Bowl
arena, (which I believe seats something like 80,000 and was sold out solid)
that TMS wouldn't have had more than 40K in attendance.
I figured that everyone who wasn't at the fair would be at home watching the
football game on TV rather than driving way out TMS (20 miles north of Ft
Worth, in the middle of nowhere!)
Guess I was wrong, and for all those who did attend... They sure as hell got
their monies worth! WOW what a race, what a finish, what a year for the IRL,
and now with Fontana to the mix, and CART loosing Ford and Honda in their
decision to go with the IRL spec engine is there any doubt who is winning
the open wheel war in the USA?
Flame on sucka's :-)

At least on a certain level you are correct. There will 5 to 10 super
teams. The super teams will field cars for both the oval and the road
course series. The other teams will concentrate on one or the other
and will cross over for the big events like Long Beach and Indy.

Wow!! It is so cool that you guys have your crystal balls working. How
else could the rest of the racing fans in the world know what to expect for
the next fifty years. Give or take a day. While you are getting such good
reception with your cameras into the future, why not tell us who will win
the championship every year, and how many people will care. Or maybe, just
MAYBE, you dont know squat and what will be, not even TG or anyone else
knows. I think I will go with the latter.

It's called an opinion. Just like you think Texas is a great place to
live. They have a great race track there but that does not mean it is
great place to live.
