Several hundred spectators here and there. It looked like the turnout for a
club race.

So, I DVR'd the race and haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Should I?
Is it worth watching after seeing the results? Or was it a good napping
opportunity?

Depends upon the reason(s) you'd care or not care to
watch it and what you'd like to see occur or not occur.

I'm just looking for some good racing and I'm not particularly partial.
Did anyone make a particularly noteworthy drive? Were there good battles
between anyone? Any major cockups worth seeing?

It was one of the better races of late; worth watching.

All I can say is that I had expected it might well have been a
follow the leader, parade type of boring road race without
any passing which it surprisingly, imho, turned out not to be.

I agree. I did not see it all, but saw some decent passes,
& some pretty fair sportsmanship regards passing.

And if you watch it, you might see (or confirm) something
I thought I saw.
As regards that safety/protective rear bodywork:
I thought I saw someone trailing, push his front wing
on up, pushing/deforming the other car's rear body,
to cut down the leading car's rear tire.

I saw something similar; it looked to me as though the
trailing driver was possibly frustrated with trying to
get around an evidently slower car but unlike in the past,
because of the body work, it wouldn't seem possible to
cut a tire with a wing anymore.

There was a lot of dicing and passing further back from the lead that kept it
interesting. It was more interesting, IMHO, than St. Pete, or Barber last
season.

You used to be a ChampCar fan and you said you stopped watching when they
merged with IndyCar. Why not come back to
the IndyCar fold? IndyCar is becoming more like ChampCar every day. And
they have even said they want to try standing
starts at least two times this season. IndyCar is finally under some decent
leadership.

Possibly. That's still yet to be determined. But if it continues
solely with premium cable broadcasts (with few exceptions) ,
it's doomed. At least they're not under the aegis of ChampCar's
"gang that couldn't shoot straight", who were far and away their
own worst enemy.

WAT

The hell I stopped watching when they merged, and I don't recall saying
I was going to stop. I've been watching fairly regularly ever since
ChampCar tanked.
