"Mr In Hindsight" believes they will have a faster car for the last 2
races, following the Young Driver Tests this week.

Big deal!

If they'd run at the earlier YDT, the benefits of the extra testing
would have been available and the team might have been able to win the
championships.

Whitmarsh couldn't CEO a welk stall.

Would that not apply to the other teams too? Im fairly sure it would
have just accelerated RBR's recovery from the rule changes. The season
would have been even worse.

I have a feeling RB have been sitting on a second of pace for some time.
But they knew their advantage would be best used at the last tracks used
in the season - which is what they've done for the last 3 years.

That's a bit of a gamble. If McLaren hadn't dropped the ball so
frequently, RBR would have left themselves too much too do. They'll
have been giving it a maximum effort since the start of the season.
The thing with RBR is that nearly everything they bring to the track
for the first time seems to work. There seems to be a very good
correlation between what they find in the wind tunnel or via CFD and
what actually happens on the track. Plus they've kept on working on
and testing new parts and have come up with something that has made a
big difference at a critical stage in the season.
