Lots of very good drives, lots of battles but of coarse it was a boring GP as usual just ask Richard, Henry, Bird, etc.
However Massa was a step above today so he gets my vote with a special mention to the Hulk for grabbing a lotto opportunity and taking it and to both TorroRosso drivers who entertained with passion.

Extra vigor may be a nod and payback to team for having his contract renewed for 2013.

I dunno but I kinda feel there is a repeating pattern year over year. In the first half of the season Felipe is not fulfilling the expectations, everyone starts discussing who will replace him, warning comes from the Ferrari top and then - allofasuden - Felipe ups his game and gets his contract for another year. Or, since I have no statistics to look at, is it just my wrong impression?

Or is it that Fred carries the team through first 3/4 of season, whereupon Felipe awakes from his nap and starts to cover his winded teammate?

Perhaps all the development parts got to Alonso, and Massa kind of gets to catch up as the development settles down over the season.

Every competitor has his instant limits, not to mention he changed chassis.
Both are reversible,

Here's the scoring for Felipe and his Ferrari team-mates since he joined in 2006. Apologies for word wrap - save it to a file and reformat.

Gary Anderson said yesterday that HRT haven't had *any* development over the season - and they are the same distance behind the front-runners as they were at the start of the season. They have just concentrated on getting more out of the car as it is. Development clearly hasn't benefitted the top teams - McLaren in particular have gone backwards. And Ferrari clearly aren't doing too well.

A more intelligent way to think of it might be that HRT were
particularly poor at getting the potential performance out of their car.

I suggest that you take this up with Gary Anderson rather than with me. He said, "Sometimes it is better to get 100% out of a 90% car, rather than 90% out of a 100% car."

I was sent a clip of Hamilton on Vergne and he (Vergne) deserves a mention if only for defending very fairly but very well and successfully against a master.
