No major surprises. Minor surprises:
- While Manor's expected renaming to Virgin Racing has taken place,
Brawn's to Mercedes Grand Prix is relegated to a footnote saying
they've indicated their "intention" to do so.
- Neither Toyota nor [BMW] Sauber is listed. Another footnote:
"Toyota Motorsport GmbH remains formally bound by the Concorde
Agreement to put forward a team for participation, though it has
indicated that it will not be in a position to do so. "An
announcement will be made regarding this entry in due course."
Whoever ends up running in the 13th slot will evidently be
assigned numbers 26 and 27; wonder if Bernie will put them at
the end of the pit lane.
Non-surprises:
- Drivers listed.
- Confirmation of Renault power for Red Bull. Really, what other
possibility was there?
Likely red herring:
- The "Constructor" for entrant Campos Meta 1 reflects the folks
actually building the car ("Campos Dallara"); the omission of
mention of an engine is almost certainly an oversight.

Two former WDCs in same team
1953-54 Ferrari G Farina (50) & A Ascari (52, 53)
1967-68 Lotus G Hill (62) & J Clark (63 & 65)
1974 McLaren D Hulme (67) & E Fittipaldi (72)
1986 McLaren K Rosberg (82) & A Prost (85)
1989 McLaren A Prost (85-86) & A Senna (88)
Jim Clark was killed in 1968 after competing alongside Hill in the first GP.
A related trivia item.
Former WDC driving #2 (since early in 1973)
1986 McLaren K Rosberg [A Prost #1]
1989 McLaren A Prost [A Senna #1]
1993 Williams A Prost [D Hill #0]
1994 Williams A Senna [D Hill #0]
1994 Williams N Mansell [D Hill #0]
Before 1973 the numbers were not fixed. In 1994 neither Senna nor Mansell drove
in many races. Lewis Hamilton will drive #2 in 2010.

Thank you, I now see it in the update. Living in the land of "NASCAR

Tell me about it. The week after the 24 hours of Daytona were filled with
junk about the "upcoming great american race". A minimum of 18 hours a day
decicated to a series of demolition derbys. However I *did* get a chuckle
out of one thing I saw on SPEED News - the red flag - 30+ cars in a pileup
because they instantly stop on the track.

I have a friend from Brazil that I used to work with. He'd tape all the F1
races for me during the seasons that Alonzo was winning his titles. He moved,
so I no longer get the tapes. At least he waited until Alonzo's reign was
over. I really enjoyed those races. ;-)

To be renamed Hispania Racing F1 Team at a rollout on Thursday, if
reports are to be believed. (I suppose the Manor -> Virgin switch shows
that a new team can do this, but forcing an old team to race as "BMW
Sauber-Ferrari" still seems a bit unfair.)

An ex-parrot, and I see no reason why the FIA should hold their entry
for 2011. Seems unlikely that it will be handed to Stefan GP for 2010
either; the FIA has done stranger things, but that was under Mosley - or
Balestre.

I don't think it has been suggested that Sauber have been forced to
keep that name any more than Campos.

Sounds like "you could, but you'd be punished." Meets my threshold for
"forced"; YMMV.
The FIA published the entry list today - 24 cars, no US F1 or Stefan GP.
