A *SINGLE* IRL event, the Indy 500, carries more prestige,
has more viewers and produces more revenue than ALL the
cartowrs events combined.
Exactly. But the rest of the IRL season makes up for it and puts the
OWRS on top.
Top of the shit heap, where NOBODY wants to be.
If OWRS is on top of a shit heap and the IRL is beneath it, what does
that make the IRL?
Of course the IRL wouldn't be caught dead anywhere in the
VICINITY of the shit heap that is known as Cart/Chump car.
> they have no one showing up for the races either, so there are no fans to
> speak of.
40 thousand people showing up on a friday in SJose to attend an event that
they cannot really see (terrible seating and impossible general admission)
and that doesn't show the capabilities of either the cars of the drivers at
all. The little you could see in SJose was through safety fences, so no
pictures either.
On the other side there are 1000 people at Infineon Raceway, a great track
where you can see just about everything from just about anywhere, even with
a general admission ticket. The track is really demanding and let you see a
lot of what drivers do; in the esses, for instance, some drivers are flat
out while some others lift, it's really nice to watch. Moreover, there
almost never is a fence between the spectators and the track at Infineon.
Does it mean that you need to parade the cars around a dull toy track, like
the vast majority of street circuits are, to get any attention in North
America? A really sad state of affair for motorracing.
Bye,
Luca
PS: the historic f1 cars at Infineon were great, although it remains a
mistery to me how they fit into the "irl vision".
I agree. They continue to lag far behind and in the middle of that heap
o' shit on top of which sits OWRS.
As I've said before, the chumps would literally KILL to have the IRL's
owners, drivers, vendors, sponsors, venues, contracts, revenue, press,
viewers, connections, budgets, ratings, networks, press, present,
future...
"literally KILL"? As in murder? Do have have the link that indicates
the contracts for assassination of IRL-related staff? Have you reported
this lethal targeting to the FBI? Should Homeland Security be alerted?
If its Tony George that's the target, would anybody notice (except that
the funding for most teams would disappear)?
The ONLY thing the IRL has is the IRL 500. The fans and interest in the
series are both evaporating. After the IRL 500, the rest of the season
is just filler.
As engine manufacturers and sponsors continue to pull out of the IRL,
the series will fade.
OTOH, OWRS seems to be increasing in popularity. Do you think this is
due to the migration of fans from the IRL to the OWRS? Do you think
this is based on the failure of Danica to meet the expectation set by
the media or do you think this is due to the realization that the IRL
isn't much of a series?
So what does the OWRS have to gain from the fading IRL? They would
certainly want to participate in the Indy 500 but not under the IRL
flag? Is that enough?

Yet again (you clearly have the memory and mental capacity of an
Alzheimer's victim), yeah, LITERALLY KILL!! Ask Greg Moore
(I just love how Cart allowed him to drive with ONE HAND), Jeff
Krosnoff (it'll be TOO EXPENSIVE AND TIME CONSUMING
to remove that tree and lamp post) or Gonzalo Rodriguez (we address
known issues ONLY after fatalities) what CART would do for profits.
These miscreants would without the slightest doubt burn their own
mothers at the stake if that were deemed beneficent to their cause.

I don't know who you are, but are you that much of
an idiot to take this discussion to such disgusting
extremes?

Evidently, you are that much of an idiot.
You may rest assured in the certain knowledge that I couldn't
possibly care less about either who you are or your pathetically
feeble attempt at posing a transgression against your obviously
pretentious moral code.

When you can't argue the facts ...
Just knock on any stock holders door.
You failed to address the point with your incoherent rant. But nobody
expected you to actuall respond with a rational answer.
Then we'll follow in your footsteps. But since we are involved with
facts, you appear as an incoherent idiot.
Go back to your room, take your meds and let the nurses know you'll be
sleeping for a while.
A minimal degree of competence, which you quite obviously
don't possess, is required for effective communication.
> Go back to your room, take your meds and let the nurses know you'll be

Your whining yet again, what a surprise.
It requires facts..The fact is that you possess no facts, only your
simple minded insults when you've so obviously lost control and failed.
So tell us again which IRL person will be killed by OWRS? You did say
that they would "literally KILL" didn't you. So who is the target of
their lethal efforts?

Whatver.
*plonk*, you ghoulish, disgusting cretin.
Briscoe must be taking driving lessons from Big Ed. RB discovers that
he gets less traction on dirt than on pavement!! Wow, what a revelation!!
"Who'll survive?...."
This isn't a race, its a sad joke on the sport.
Ya gotta luv duh vishun.
No wonder the fans are going elsewhere.
> The IRL just isn't a big draw.
Sure, and it was the first year of the event. I still have to wonder,
though, if one can get attention for open wheel only by racing downtown.
Too bad that they (cart/irl guys) can't get their act together and bring
back some of the former glory. F1 succesfully sabotaged cart in the past
when it was threatening f1 itself in Europe, when Mansell made it popular.
Now I believe that there would be plenty of room for a cart comeback, but
how can you make it happen?
Bye,
Luca
> Third-rate drivers going brain dead when trying to turn right.
I disagree on the 3rd rate but that's personal opinion.
How many of the drivers grew up on road courses, though? I think it's the
majority of them, which is quite opposite of your implication.
Bye,
Luca
