The images you see on the screen should be just a snapshot of the
virtual world at one point of time, and not "hey, let's lock the entire
game up and wait for the vsync"...
Well, let's see if someone actually tried the stuff...

It is visual thing, not physics thing.
You first try a game with vsync "on", then you will know what vsync
does to a sim. Vsync is a serious thing, and seriously affects FFB. Any lag,
the smallest lag, affects FFB. Even using a Logitech profiler introduces lag
to FFB, and seriously affects controlability of a car, and not to say vsync.
