What, you're not a buddhist?!

;)

About those microswitches, I needa builda sequential shifter like yours.
Got a few lying about the shop Goy?

Hmm..it's not bad. Very vague handling though. Certainly no GTR2002.....

Nope, but I'll ask my brother if he can "misplace" a set like the one I
got :-)

Btw, you wouldn't happen to have a Holden Commodore lying about would
you, I need to take some measurements for a project :-)

You have to admit it's probably the best thing anyone's managed with
ISI's engine.

I have pretty high expectations for the new one.

Yea but when it boils down to it its still a crappy engine. I'll take a
halfass mod on a papy engine over a great mod on the isi engine any day (not
that tptcc is halfass; its awesome)

I guess it depends what your looking for. If you put a higher priority on
controller setup and multiplayer then there's no question that a Papy engine
is preferred but physics are the key to realism in my book. Bottom line is
that TPTCC doesn't simulate the physics of a touring car as well as GTR 2002
or Netkar or LFS.

No plans, my brother have them in his head :-), I'll try to see if I can
get a few good pics though, but it's dead simple to make since it's a
"sequential" shifter and not an H-pattern

It's nothing more than a block of nylon as the base, a "stick" and two
micro switches, the stick pivots around an axle about 2/3 rd's into the
block and the switches are attached to the very bottom of the block
where the end of the stick protrudes by .5", we put the pivot of the
stick relatively low so that the "hand end" was longer then the "switch
end" to give it a little bit of travel

It's one of them constructions that make you go "Doh" when you see it as
you realize how simple it can be done, I bought myself an Act-Labs
shifter to compliment it as somehow it doesn't feel right to run Cup
cars, T/A cars and AussieV8's with a Seq. shifter :-), we'll see how it
works out when I get settled into the new place

Steve...
LFS has touring cars now? (and I mean the v8 powered mustangs and and
vettes?) or does LFS just emulate hopped up Street Vehicles?

How can you compare the 2?

The single biggest weakness of the Papyrus mods is also the single
biggest strength of the ISI mods. With Papyrus, you can have several
different body styles but underneath they all drive and sound the same.
This is NOT a problem with series like Nascar or Aussie V8's where you just
don't have much variety. But the Sportscar classes are nothing but
variety, and there the ISI mods trounce the Papyrus releases. If you
built a Porche 993 and an Audi R8 and put them in the Papyrus model, the
two cars would sound and drive the same. (that kinda has a novel appeal
tho...imagine blasting down the Mulsaane in your 993 and passing the R8!)
The ISI mods can have almost any number of different sounding, and
different driving vehicles on track together. But here too there is a
weakness in the ISI mods...I'm not aware if F1 C can track multiple
groupings of cars in the same race for Scoring purposes. By that can you
run a GTR type event with two separate classes of vehicles and have the
computer keep track of points and finishes for both groups...Most likely
you'd have to save the results screen and award points manually.
Don't get me started about night lights, brake lights, etc etc.
Having said all that...guess which mod I'm drivng right now and which
series I'm rejoining starting this Friday...:)
