I'll close the loop here. I checked several auto parts stores on our
trip to Portland, OR. The fellow at CarQuest was helpful, he didn't
have the Motive bleeder in stock but could bring one in for me. As I
didn't have time to wait, he suggested I check out Discount Import
Parts in Milwaukie, Oregon just outside Portland. Discount had the
bleeder in stock and at a really nice price. And no sales tax in
Oregon to boot. Thanks CarQuest and Discount. Turns out Discount
Imports also has lots of hard to find VW parts including trim pieces.
