Was playing around with PhotoImpact, putting together the VT trip stuff
for my log page at my site. I couldn't believe how sharp that pic came
out. It is a "color pen" rendering of pic I took on Saturday.

Very cool. If you wanted to make that into a poster, it would probably
popular, if you offered them for sale.

But not a BIG poster, maybe a nice frameable 11x14 or 16x20 size? Ooooh! Or
another t-shirt!

If you're going to do it, make it a litho, a real print, not just a poster.
Or send to an embroidery shop where they do computerized embroidery, and sew
it on a cotton mat, or even a nice jacket.
Yeah.
Maybe I should do a picture of one of my cars like that. Somehow I think
that in their current disassembled state, it would lose some of the effect

Yeah, I was just thinking about that.............
that would make a great pattern for real wallpaper if you have a home

Can you put that on a t-shirt?

Wow! That looks great! You should try making an old-looking sepia photograph of that -
make it look like it was taken in '57...

A suggestion John:
This does have potential, but I would Photoshop out the pictogram
signs before applying the color pen effect. For example, cut other
sections of the gable end of the bridge and paste them over the signs.
They disturb the 'vintage' feel of a great shot. Without them, itmay
as well be 1957.

Yes. In fact, since it was such a snap to do that (and well done, I
might add), how about deleting the transformers on the pole to the
left, and whateve those boxes growing out of Zinny's roofline, Mr.
Smotty Pantz?
I can also do watercolor, charcoal and oil paints in either B&W or
color....
I have a couple other really nice shots that I may mess around a bit
with too. Right now I want to finish up the "log" page that has some
other neat VT pics on it. Check the Bugshop later this afternoon,,

Also, you've inspired me to have a go at photo-editing myself... I've made a recent photo
of my '66 into an 'old' one! See: http://www.howardrose.freeserve.co.uk/oldphoto/ for the
pic! I must admit, it isn't as good as yours! I just changed the colour and blurred and
sharpened it a couple of times to make it look like it was taken with an old camera!

John,
Have you ever considered getting your own site altogether? You know,
www.bugshop.com? Wouldn't be too much nowadays, and you'd have complete
autonomy (other than VWOA breathing down your neck about using the word
'bug').

I have, but evertime I think about it, think about buying domain names (which
I have done for 2 other sites already), think about moving files, etc... it
just starts to look like work, not a hobby anymore. So long as Geocities
gives me space, and the Gods don't hassle me, I'll just take the least effort
path. BTW, when I first got on with GC, they offered 2 meg, right about then
I had run out of space, the went to 3. when I was bumping into that, they
went to 6, then 11, then 15. HELLO!!?? GC!? Time to up the ante again
boys!!

If your looking for some extra webspace, try www.cyberdub.net - it's free and has no
banners or advertising. You are also allowed to store files on it even if you have no
webpage there.
It can also be accessed from any web connection using a program such as FTPexplorer.
I think its 15megs.
