what bastard dealer wants 200 to replace a flasher relay (ugh)
if no flashers work when cold (even when you press the hazard warning
switch), and you've replaced the relay, then you've probably got a
bad Ground #401 or #402. Also look for look for corrosion or
something bent on the bottom-most pin of the flasher relay socket
(which is the ground pin)
ground 401 is way above the fuse box underdash, on the same panel...it
looks like abig block bolted to the chassis. ground 402 looks just
the same, except it's on the passenger side....sort of a big
block-shaped thing bolted to the side of the chassis under the dash
the turn signal switch on the column provides power to the flasher
relay through a completely different set of wires than the hazard
warning switch......therefore, if nothing works with either switch,
then it's likely not the positive side of the circuit or the relay
itself.
since _nothing_ works, this rules out the four separate grounds for
the lights at the four corners of the car.
this leaves us with the ground connection for the relay itself which
is shown as G401/G402 which is the main wiring harness ground for the
dashboard
