Does PS fluid really need to be changed?

I keep seeing this on newsgroups and dealers always keep trying to sell this. I have NEVER had the fluid changed in any car that I owned(only when the hoses went out,then the pump/fluid was changed). Is this a scam? I have a Dodge Caliber with 53K miles, and have never changed the fluid(car is a 2007).... more »

Spreading the wealth tonight because there are knowledgable people in all these groups. In order to try to make sure my '92 Grand Caravan has the proper ATF, which is now ATF+4, I did a drain and fill and replace 5.5 qts of trans fluid with Castorl ATF+4 grade ATF. It is running OK, but sometimes "Bump-shifts" which in these trannies can be an indication maybe someone... more »

2004 Town and Country. I have a GPS that needs to have voltage when the igntion switch is in the off position. 2006 Caravan Belt Tensioner

Can someone advise the best tool to fit on the 2006 caravan belt tensioner to relieve the belt tension? There is a solid square tab protruding off the tensioner. A crescent wrench will fit on it but there is no room to hold this wrench and put leverage on it. Is there a custom tool for this?

Hi, Thank You all for being here . Wife was driving going on to highway heard thunk. Car no longer moved. She pulled over and engine still running car wont move in all gears and even rolls in park. had car towed back home Tow truck guy said trans or CV joints.
